Partner organization visitors

If you are a member of an organization with a visitor agreement, you may attend events that are not explicitly reserved for SMB members. Here is the practical information about registration, arrival, and which organizations are covered.

Who can visit as a partner-organization member?

Visiting members of organizations with visitor agreements may participate in all events that are not explicitly reserved for SMB members. This page is for you if you are already a member of a partner organization and want to visit SM Bergen.

SMB also has completely public meetups and events where members may bring guests. Those are usually announced on FetLife or Facebook and follow their own format. If you visit Bergen often, ordinary SMB membership may be more practical. We try to make that process flexible.

Plan your visit

Event lists are sent to our partner organizations and are also published in the SM Bergen group on FetLife.

Venue addresses and last-minute practical information are published on SMB’s internal pages. The simplest option is often to contact an SMB member, event lead, or event coordinator in advance, so both you and we have the right information. SMB also uses Discord and Facebook as possible communication channels.

If your organization provides you with an email address, you may in many cases be able to get a visitor login and receive our member newsletter.

Registration

Visitors must be able to present a valid membership card on arrival and provide the relevant nick or membership number when registering. The associations may exchange general information about visitors if needed. For that reason, registration must be made well in advance, and never later than 48 hours before the event.

Visiting members may not bring guests. Everyone attending must be registered and meet the requirements themselves.

If you do not have access to SMB’s web pages, you can register by email to arrangement@smbergen.org.

On arrival

If you are not already known to us, be prepared to show confirmation that you are who you say you are, especially if communication between the organizations was not possible before the event.

If this is your first party with us, please plan to arrive 30 minutes early for a short introduction. Let the event coordinator know this when registering. This is especially important if you have not attended an introduction course in your own organization.

Visiting members pay the guest price, which is normally somewhat higher than the price for SMB members. Arrive in good time. For discretion reasons, many events have a time after which the doors close.

At the event

At events, the organizer’s rules and bylaws always apply. These are available at the event.

Unless otherwise stated, fetish or dark clothing is acceptable party dress. Avoid sneakers and sweatpants.

We have a self-service kiosk with snacks, coffee, and soft drinks. SMB does not have a license to serve alcohol, and alcohol rules depend on the event and venue. Any alcohol use must always be very moderate. Other substances are not allowed.

Discretion is a core SMB value. Phones and cameras must be put away unless explicitly agreed otherwise. Photography, audio recording, and video recording are normally prohibited.

SMB is volunteer-run. Offers to help with cleaning or other practical tasks are appreciated. It can also be wise to introduce yourself to the event lead or event monitors, so they know you are visiting and can help you feel welcome.

Organizations with visitor agreements

Other organizations we collaborate with

These have limited or no visitor agreement. Contact us if you are unsure what applies.

If your organization is missing, contact your own board. If you are on the board yourself, email styret@smbergen.org.
